“It must suck at times, being in a catholic school if you’re questioning things about yourself.” she hummed, she didn’t want to presume Rachael was gay - hadn’t everyone made out with a girl? & she didn’t want to spoke the already seemingly nervous girl by calling her a lesbian.

Rachael scratched at her shoulder and shrugged.
It’s not as though she had anything to compare it to,
but Brooke wasn’t too far off her with assumptions.
“Kind of. But a lot of the people there are surprisingly
open-minded.”

Brooke laughed at the face Rachael pulled. “My dad wanted me to go to St. Marys originally.” she said. “he thought it would look better if his daughter went to a place like that for elections. It didn’t stick - obviously.”

“Sometimes I’m jealous of people who get to go to a ‘normal’ school,” admitted Rachael, surprisingly easily. “But it’s not so bad, I guess.” It became apparent as Rachael grew up that every high school had its issues. And just about now, she was particularly content with not going to school with the guys whose wet dreams she may or may not have featured in. What she was truly looking forward new now was college.

’  you can’t beat yourself up over this, ‘ she pressed, unable to sit there and watch the girl she genuinely cared about feel guilty for LIVING. her eyes glance at the pout in the blonde’s lips, resisting the urge to kiss any remaining guilt away. they’re having a serious moment, and taking advantage of the blonde in her emotional state isn’t something audrey wants to do.  ‘ do you think nina would give a damn if the roles were reversed? she’d still be talking about that video and terrorizing everyone like the QUEEN BITCH she was. i just… can’t believe you actually feel bad for her, ’ she shakes her head, eyes softening as she looks closely at rachael again. it’s in those eyes that she finds softness an da little bit of her own sanity. ‘ i really thought i was going to lose you, and if i did… i don’t know what i would have done. ‘

“I know.” She hated to admit it, but Audrey was right to some degree. Nina never cared about Rachael or Audrey when she made that video and decided to share it to the world. And it almost ruined her. The backlash was still in effect. Every day the comments grew more hostile (some even blaming Rachael for Nina’s death) and seeing the viewer count escalate only made her feel worse, somehow. All of it was out of her control, and Rachael knew that. But it still didn’t help. And she still didn’t know how not to feel responsible.
Rachael shook her head, not wanting Audrey to finish that last thought. She pulled her close into a hug, holding her tight. The relief was instantaneous–having Audrey around always had that effect–and Rachael let out a sigh. “I’m here. I’m right here, okay?”

“Yeah, Nina was a total bitch - she did shit like that to us all.” she said with a nonchalant shrug. “It’s not even a big deal, you probably fueled our schools boy populations’ wet dreams.” she said grabbing herself a beer. “You go to that other school though - right?”

image

Was that supposed to be flattering? That she’d
kickstarted a bunch of fantasies of Lakewood teen
boys unwillingly? She couldn’t help the face she
pulled at the very idea. “Oh–I don’t even want to
think about that.” Let alone what Audrey would’ve
been going through because of it. Where was she,
anyway?
She nodded, then, relieved to change the
subject. “Yeah. St. Mary’s.”
